We are delighted to announce a number of upcoming events and hope that you will take the opportunity to attend and catch up with what we’ve been doing recently.

We are thrilled to announce that this year’s GWCT Annual London Ball will be held on Wednesday 1st November at Banqueting House from 7pm. 

The main issues and threats facing Scotland’s four iconic grouse species and the vital role they play in the biodiversity of our woodlands and uplands are the subject of a symposium taking place at Balhousie Castle, Perth, on Friday 5 May 2023 organised by the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust and the World Pheasant Association. The event is generously supported by Hampden & Co.

The GWCT Allerton Project is a 320ha mixed arable and livestock farm based around the small village of Loddington on the Leicestershire/Rutland border (and not to be confused with Loddington in Northamptonshire).

It’s that time of year again, the waders are returning to Auchnerran, our Scottish demonstration farm.

Luke Scott, Fisheries Research Assistant, at the GWCT Salmon & Trout Research Centre got a nice surprise when checking the video footage from the River Frome counter from the 14^th February 2023.

Over 1200 survey sites across the UK have been allocated to volunteer surveyors, but coverage remains low in south-west Scotland and central Wales. 

60 participants were welcomed by the Ceredigion GWCT Committee to Dovey Valley Shooting Ground on a glorious Sunday morning at the end of February, for a day of shooting clay.

The SAlmonid MAnagement Round the CHannel (SAMARCH) project, set out to deliver new information to improve the protection of our threatened wild salmon and sea trout in estuaries and coastal waters, started in 2017 and now holds its closing conference on the 14^th and 15^th of March 2023 in Southampton.
