Excitement at our Scottish demonstration farm as training for our new laser fence project gets underway.

I had some fieldwork to do at GWSDF Auchnerran, planning for some imminent, and some not so imminent, experiments, and decided to have a walk round much of the farm. The weather was fantastic – chilly but sunny – and the farm was alive with activity.

Auchnerran is a hive of activity right now. For a start, we have more people working here than we’ve had before as we pull together more information about our wader and rabbit populations. And by all accounts the sheep flock, under Allan’s shepherding skills, is doing well.

Sheep health is always important, affecting welfare, farm income and the ability of the sheep to graze for conservation. But it’s particularly important for in-lamb ewes as Auchnerran prepares for new arrivals.
