Summer application of a pyrethroid insecticide: consequences of varying application rate of Linyphiid spiders in barriered plots.
Abstract
The use of synthetic pyrethroid insecticides, in UK cereals, is currently restricted to the autumn due to concern that their lack of specificity may result in an adverse impact on beneficial arthropods.
The multiple rate cypermethrin barrier trial described here forms part of a wider investigation into the effects of pyrethroids on the epigeal arthropod fauna associated with wheat fields.
