GWCT Scotland are delighted to announce that we will be hosting an evening with the inimitable Sir Johnny Scott at Hopetoun House on Thursday 11th May 2023.
Having relocated from Perth airport to the estate office at Hopetoun House, we are keen to mark this exciting new chapter with an event and can’t think of a better way of doing so than enjoying some fascinating stories from a man steeped in the countryside.
Sir Johnny is best known for writing and co-presenting the BBC2 series “Clarissa and the Countryman”, with the late Clarissa Dickson Wright. He is a thought-provoking and highly amusing raconteur and he currently writes for a variety of magazines and periodicals on field sports, food, farming, travel, history and the countryside, including The Field.
He is the author of a number of fascinating books including the most recently published, “The Countryman Sets Forth Again” which is available to purchase from the GWCT Shop now and will also be available to purchase at the event and which Sir Johnny will be happy to sign.
The event will start at 6.00pm with a drink on arrival followed by the main event.
There is ample parking at Hopetoun House and full directions will be provided before the event.
If you have any questions, please contact Rory Donaldson via rdonaldson@gwct.org.uk.
We are grateful to Corney & Barrow for their ongoing support of GWCT and for supplying the wine for this event
