A pioneering trial set up to help rebuild the population of the endangered Hen Harrier in England has reared and released 13 chicks this year.

This year’s art competition is open once again, all school aged pupils across Aberdeenshire, Angus and Perth and Kinross are invited to submit a piece of artwork.

Another year of “stubbornly static”, and in some cases rising, rodenticide residues in barn owls has prompted an uncomfortable question about the use of poison baits: could irresponsible practices by a delinquent minority restrict future pest control options for the responsible majority?

The first week of my placement with the GWCT has been such a brilliant experience. I’ve learned so much already, although I do feel like I’ve been given so much information that I haven’t taken it all in just yet!
