GWCT Upland Game Conference 2025
This year’s Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) Upland Game Conference will take place in the heart of Teesdale, at The Witham in Barnard Castle, on Monday 17th February.
Previously known as the North of England Grouse Seminar, the event has been renamed in response to feedback from attendees of last year’s event. This year, the range of talks has been expanded to include not only the latest research, but also practical advice for managing uplands and moorland fringes. The aim is to deliver even greater value to attendees and give them the knowledge to future proof our upland landscapes.

- Keynote speaker – Andreas Heinemeyer will present on ‘Heather Management, a contentious upland issue: shining a light on prescribed burning: the claims vs. evidence’.
- Insightful talks from industry leaders and GWCT experts.

GWCT Lowland Game Conference
The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust’s (GWCT) annual lowland Game Conference is promising to deliver an excellent line-up of speakers and a day packed with insightful and informative talks.
This year’s event will take place on Tuesday 18th March at the charity’s headquarters at Fordingbridge in the New Forest.
Designed to inform and promote good game management, Game 25 is aimed at everyone involved in the sector and will be of interest to landowners, sporting agents, shoot managers, gamekeepers, game farmers and fieldsports enthusiasts.
There will an update on the latest gamebird research and members of the GWCT team will explain how to highlight the conservation benefits of shoots on a landscape scale. and how to demonstrate their positive impact, which can help with licence applications.
External experts will cover a variety of topics, such as the current shoot market and finances, how to make a good shoot day into an even more enjoyable experience, a vet’s insight into improving gamebird health, new technologies, and how to be better prepared to defend game management
