It’s always worth being reminded of the legislation you or your employees are working under, but making sure everyone is doing the job as effectively as possible and working to the highest standards is also just as important.
From large commercial operations to small DIY syndicates, showing due diligence, the process of ensuring you or your employees have received training or been on a refresher course, is becoming more important than ever before.
Poor practice can reflect terribly on an estate, and every shoot should try to avoid local negativity towards their operations. Ensuring that predation management is done to the highest standard is part of this picture, and being able to demonstrate the positive consequences of the work you’re doing can really help. Controlling predators here and there is unlikely to have the desired outcome, and we can help ensure that you or your employees are working as efficiently and as effectively as possible, making sure the approach is legal, targeted, and humane.
We’re running three full-day courses across the country, covering fox control, corvid control and tunnel trapping for small mammals. These courses are certificated to demonstrate attendance and completion of each course.
These courses are being held on the following dates:
Additionally, we will soon be advertising and running several new, refreshed rodenticide training courses across the country, which update users of the recent changes to legislation surrounding the use of rodenticides. Please look out for these courses and get in touch to put your name down for one of these courses.
We also run bespoke mink trapping courses and squirrel control courses and, if any of the above dates or locations are not suitable for you or your team, please get in touch as we can arrange additional courses to suit you.
To book places please contact Lizzie Herring, our Advisory Co-ordinator, on 01425 651013 or email advisory@gwct.org.uk.
