The government have confirmed that farmers who initiated their Countryside Stewardship 2024 applications by the September 15th deadline will receive an extension.
This extension is a response to feedback from farmers and landowners, aimed at accommodating those who require more time to apply for the 2024 Countryside Stewardship Mid Tier agreements. The application window was initially extended by four weeks to the September 15th deadline to facilitate online submissions.
For all farmers and landowners who either commenced their application or submitted land alterations with the intent to apply by this deadline, the Rural Payments Agency will provide support to ensure they have ample time to finalise these applications. This extension grants farmers the flexibility needed to benefit from the scheme without undue pressure to meet the original deadline.
