For nearly 100 years the GWCT has been a champion for wildlife through our evidence-led approach to conservation. The breadth of research carried out makes GWCT unique, and it demonstrates how game management can be both sustainable, improve biodiversity and aid species recovery.
An annual fundraiser was held in aid of GWCT by their South East Wales Committee, chaired by Roger Thomas and vice-chair Philip Yapp, on Thursday September 21st, held at the iconic Cefn Tilla Court by kind invitation from Rob Evans.
There were 83 guns in total, with previous winners Lambert Smith Hampton returning to victory in the team of four and four-man flush category, team comprising of Bob Harlow, Russel Wiltshire, Oliver West and Andrew Jones.
In second place in both these categories were Prestige Motor Co “RAF”, comprising of Peter Tomasulo, Joe Tomasulo, Jordan Peake and Steve Perham. In third place in both categories were Fruitful Shots, comprising of Kallum Burrell, Simon Collinson, Steve Morgan and William Collinson.
In the pair category, the winning pair were Kallum & Simon from Fruitful Shots, second place were Russel & Olly from Lambert Smith Hampton and third place were Dave Whistance and Peter Gardiner.
Through advice and support GWCT help farmers, land managers and gamekeepers across the UK succeed in their mission to enhance the British countryside and share the belief that wildlife can thrive if we focus on integrating it alongside other land uses.
