During July, GWCT's Dr Louise de Raad is spending two weeks of unpaid leave to hike Tour Du Mont Blanc, one of the most famous long-distance treks in the world, totalling 170km. She hopes to raise enough funds to help improve facilities at our Auchnerran Demonstration Farm in Scotland.
Day 9: Le Peuty to Tres-les-Champs
There were a few different variants to choose from, but despite the weather I ended up taking the normal route (rather than the low route). This involved crossing Aguillette des Posettes at 2200m, 15km hike with 980m height gain (and a knee numbing 840m descent).
I think the photos speak for themselves. It was a foggy day! The forecast for tomorrow is good (sun and views!) and then rain again, so I’m going to try and hike the last two stages in one day tomorrow!
Heading into the fog!

Evidence I made it!
