Book your place for the GWCT Game 2023 Conference

Don’t miss out on booking your place at the GWCT Game 2023 Conference, to be held at the Shropshire Conference Centre in Shrewsbury on the 28th of March.

This year is the first face-to-face game conference since 2019 and presents a fantastic opportunity for game managers to catch up and keep up-to-date with the latest developments, research and advice for lowland game shoots.

Topical subjects will be presented by a series of game sector experts leading discussions on Avian Influenza, predation research and how shoots can easily collect their own data and demonstrate what GWCT calls ‘Best Practice with Proof’.

Spike Butcher, Operations Director of Aim to Sustain will be giving an overview of the important role Aim to Sustain has within the game industry, and the mission of the nine partner organisations involved.

Fascinating updates from GWCT scientists covering research into fox diet and whether shoots influence fox abundance. This work aims to help plug evidence gaps highlighted in Defra’s last review in 2020.

Ahead of the event, co-organiser Dr Roger Draycott said: “Game 2023 is the number one event for professional game managers who want to be up to speed with the latest research and advice on the key current issues affecting lowland game shoots.

We have selected a range of GWCT and outside speakers who will tackle some of the challenges and opportunities facing game shoots today, including an update on where we stand with Avian Influenza as we look forward to summer and the 2023-24 season”.

“The overriding aim of the conference is to promote best practice in game management through knowledge exchange.”

The day, which costs £50 per ticket, runs from 9.30am to 4pm.

Tickets are selling quickly with limited availability, so it’s advised to book soon to avoid missing out.
