On the Shetland Isles, a Pallas's Grasshopper Warbler was spotted yesterday – that’s rare, a sight to behold, but not as rare as the spectacular gathering of the world’s best sporting gunmakers to be seen next month – showcased beautifully in the surroundings of The Armoury at the Honourable Artillery Company in central London. And better still, the GWCT was selected as the official charity partner for this year’s event.
This chiselled, engraved, waxed and polished sweetshop can only be seen once a year, emerging for a few hours to delight a handful of VIP guests before dispersing again into the workshops of Britain’s hidden backstreets.
This is the chance to meet the makers, each delightful piece with a story, artistically and expertly captured in a firearm that some lucky owner will cherish forever. That new owner more than likely has discovered and fallen in love with it at The World Gunmakers Evening.
Touching and handling is encouraged, and trying a gun for size is essential, like being measured-up in Saville Row without the worry of one’s derrière looking too big! And all conducted with friends whilst being served amazing food and drink and a few speeches thrown in – what’s not to like?
The World Gunmakers Evening will take place at the Armoury Building at the Honourable Artillery Company in London on the 9th of November from 6.00 PM. Tickets are limited and can be found at www.worldgunmakers.com. We would love to see you there.
