Friday 12pm - Presentation to Malcolm Brockless, renowned GWCT gamekeeper for 35 years, on his retirement
Since the 1980s the GWCT has developed and run four highly successful lowland wild game recovery demonstration projects (Salisbury Plain, The Allerton Project in Leicestershire, at Royston in Hertfordshire and at Rotherfield Park in Hampshire), which have gone on to influence government agri-environment policy and motivate land managers across the country. Integral to all these projects was the gamekeeping programme run by Malcolm Brockless.

Our stand will feature a display on our predator diet research, with Jodie Case on hand to explain the science behind fox scat, stomach contents and prey remains analysis and how it’s contributing to a range of GWCT conservation projects.
At 10.30am on Friday there will be a presentation of the annual Big Farmland Bird Count award.
