Monday 21st February is International Mother Language Day, recognising the importance of language as a cultural asset. Welsh language plays a significant role in communities, heritage and culture throughout Wales. We recognise the importance of the Welsh Language in rural and farming communities; we are committed to producing bilingual printed materials from GWCT Wales. Pictured are examples of ten species, with their Welsh names and the cultural translation and meaning behind them, to showcase Welsh language in a wildlife context.
