Liverpool legend Jimmy Case has volunteered time to help construct barn owl boxes for the Owl Box Initiative, and has helped enable distribution and placement of the nest boxes ready for the breeding season.
The muddled campaigning company, led by Chris Packham, has got itself so confused it asked the GWCT for help last week. However, it swiftly changed its mind after we recommended that it should start following the science and take a proportionate view of the risk.

Two years after the General Licence fiasco, Defra has announced here that it has taken control of heather burning too – another complex issue that some have repeatedly oversimplified. The RSPB, which has championed extensive restrictions, has been clear that the announcement is “not what was promised”.
