A £1m Scottish Country Sports Tourism Restart Fund has been created by VisitScotland on behalf of the Scottish Government, with development input from the Scottish Country Sports Tourism Group (SCSTG) and BASC. This is aimed at helping the Scottish country sports tourism sector survive the impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It is estimated that the value of country sports tourism to the Scottish economy is £200 million per year, with 8,800 full-time equivalent jobs being supported by the sector. The highly rural nature of this employment is of significance, important to some of our more fragile communities.

Applications to the fund will open on Wednesday 24th February and will close on Wednesday 3rd March. Questions from prospective applicants can be directed to the fund’s dedicated mailbox (CountrySportsFundEnquiries@visitscotland.com).
