The season has been cracked open and here at Tuffies we are making every effort to create dog beds that really work for the hard working dogs. The hard running is pounding their bodies while finding and handling the game is demanding in all weathers from a hot August day to a terribly rainy one in September. HPR dogs go on to take part in the shooting as peg dogs, water fowling dogs and of course as pointers on woodcock, snipe and pheasant. They get wet, tired and cold. They need comfort all year round.
A good sleep matters for both body and soul and that is very much the case for working dogs. Total warmth and insulation from a cold floor will allow your dog to get rested and set him up for a good day’s work.

The Tuffie beds can all be washed with hot soapy water and rinsed before drying if they should get particularly soiled, but a quick vacuuming or brushing is often sufficient on a daily basis. In addition, we supply a range of optional, removable and machine washable covers for our dog beds. This gives extra warmth in the winter and it provides a different route to cleaning when parts can be popped in the washing machine. The soft covers come in a vast range of colour schemes and designs, perfect to fit in with your house and your dog.
This year the grouse is very sparse in most of the country, but there are pockets with few, but strong coveys. For the dogs to find these in the heather, they need to run far and wide, still concentrating. Sometimes pointers have to work three days in a row, sleeping in the car/truck over night away from home. This demands a comfortable dog bed that provides bedding for everyone, also the lowest in the pack, who might have to sleep in the corner.
