The UK and Ireland Curlew Action Group is made up of a growing partnership of government agencies and conservation organisations, who all care about Curlew. We have come together to shape, drive and co-ordinate a programme of work across the UK so that we can make a difference for this species but also meet our international obligations.

Since 1994, SACS (as we are better known) has provided representation and insurance for the grass roots of the fieldsports community. SACS people live from Land’s End to Shetland, from Kent to Northern Ireland and all around the globe. Whether they work terriers or ferrets, hunt geese on stormy foreshores, spend the close seasons pining for pheasants or grouse, or fish for the queenly salmon, all our members are equal.

The Ellingham Floodplain Restoration project is a holistic project that encompasses multiple species benefits. The project is managed by the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust based in Fordingbridge in partnership with Somerley Estate, graziers and tenants, with funding from Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund.
