Hen Harrier Plan going ahead without RSPB: our letter to The Guardian

Male -hen -harrier -wwwlauriecampbellcomSir

This year Defra published exactly what the RSPB has been demanding since 2012: a hen harrier recovery plan endorsed by the landowning and shooting organisations. Admittedly it is hard to comprehend why the RSPB was content to spend four years helping Defra draft a plan but then ‘lose patience’ just six months after its publication.

Luckily Defra, and its remaining partners, will continue to implement the plan to recover the hen harrier in England. Dan Glaister is quite wrong to suggest otherwise (Buzzards back in hunters’ crosshairs over threat to UK pheasant shoots, 19 Sep).

All estate should look after the hen harriers and see how thay thrive like all the wildlife does on a grouse moor . And all the lies about flooding and bad for the environment should be thrown out
