Kindly sponsored by the Norman Clarke Memorial Young Shooters days.
During the summer holidays, youngsters aged between 12 and 15 will have an opportunity to take part in an inspiring new series of shoot days developed by the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust. These fun-filled but informative days will provide expert tuition in clay pigeons, and will help the youngsters gain fascinating insight on modern game management techniques as well as learning basic conservation skills.
These stimulating days, which have been made possible through a small trust fund, will be held countrywide with the first two events taking place in Leicestershire and Dorset in August.
Dr Mike Swan, head of education with the GWCT, said: “It is always a huge pleasure to introduce the next generation to the joys of the countryside. Their enthusiasm for these specially developed days is always infectious and we all have a fantastic time, especially as many of the skills they learn during the day will stay with them for the rest of their lives.”
The GWCT is enormously grateful to the Norman Clarke fund, which has provided funding for this series of courses for youngsters. The late Norman Clarke was an immensely popular shooting instructor for Holland and Holland.
Planned dates are listed in our events calendar, or contact Lizzie Herring to register your interest.
